Moonmilk Shiraz Grenache
Wine
Flowstone Moonmilk Shiraz Grenache is sourced from several vineyards in the centre and south of Margaret River. A tiny percentage of Viognier completes the blend.
The Shiraz is crushed, destemmed and open fermented with thrice daily plunging. The Grenache is left as whole bunches for fermentation, with foot stomping to slowly release more sugars.
The Shiraz is then pressed to complete fermentation in seasoned barrels, while the Grenache finishes the ferment on skins before being moved to barrels and amphorae (large clay pots).
Both varieties mature for 10 months and undergo malolactic fermentation before they are blended. The wine is bottled with minimal fining and filtration.
Vibrant red purple, Flowstone Moonmilk Shiraz Grenache is bright and fresh with juicy tannins and a long finish. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
